Came across this article on active.com. It talks about how to get a better fit through changing the lacing in your running shoes. A must read.
Poll Results for August
Here are the final results from the latest poll. The question was: How has the high summer temperatures influenced your running? I plan my runs earlier in the day was the top vote getter with 5 votes followed by I run less than usual and I do more crosstraining and less running with 3 votes each. Thank you to the 9 that voted. The full results will be left up for the next couple of days or so. The next poll question will be out later this week.

Group Run Update - Weekend Run Meets at Lunken Playfield and Hyde Park Run goes back to Wednesdays!
Starting this Sunday, the weekend group run will be at Lunken Playfield to get ready for the Hang 10 on 10-10-10. Meet by the Spirit of '76 Shelter at 8:30 AM. Routes will be between 5.5 and 7 miles.
Beginning this Wednesday September 15, the Hyde Park run returns to Wednesday. Meet by the fountain at 6:30 PM on Wednesday.
Routes for the Group Run will be posted to twitter or the club's Facebook group.
Weekly Group Run Details:

  • Wednesday - 6:30 PM Run - Hyde Park Square - meet by the fountain. Note change in day!
  • Sunday - 8:30 AM Run - Lunken Playfield - meet by the Spirit of '76 Shelter. Note change in location!

Wayne Fire and Rescue Auxiliary Shriner's 5K/2K - September 18
Wayne Fire & Rescue Auxiliary in Clermont County is hosting a 5K/2K Run at Stonelick State Park on September 18 starting at 9 a.m. to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnati. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. For more information, get the flier or call 513-625-6018.

Sin City Hashers 15th Analversary Hash - September 11
For fourteen years, the Sin City Hashers have been "a drinking club with a running problem”. This Saturday, they will begin their 15th year as a drinking club with a running problem. They will meet this Saturday September 11 about 4:00PM in Landen for their "15th Analversary Hash. Details are on their website www.sch4.com.
Queen City Invitational - this Saturday September 11
The Queen City Invitational is an opportunity to see University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and Northern Kentucky University runners race without a long drive out of town. Come out and see some of the top young local distance runners compete against other. The meet is this Saturday September 11 at Voice of America Park in West Chester. The men's race is at 10:00 AM followed by the women's race at 10:45AM.

Hang 10 on 10-10-10 - October 10,2010
The run is up in the Hang 10 on 10-10-10! Features a relatively flat 10K Course. Pre-registration is $10.10. Race Day is $20. A long sleeve t-shirt will be available for purchase for additional $10.

Badwater Presentation by Dave Corfman - September 18th
If you are interested, Dave Corfman is giving a presentation on his Badwater experience, with plenty of pictures and a video. It will be entertaining and informative, whether you are an ultramarathoners or just want to learn about the event.
