Volunteer Opportunities - May 2015

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:
  1. Memorial Day Race 39 - The Memorial Day Race needs 15-20 volunteers to help with registration, course sentries, timing, post race, and cleanup. It would take 2-3 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get the Memorial Day Race 39 race singlet for your efforts. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign-up at the Memorial Day Race at runsignup.com and click the volunteer tab.
  2. Midsummer Trail Run Race Committee - Have you ever wondered what it takes to put together a race and use the club's chip timing system to time it? Get in on the action! The club is forming a Race Committee for the club's Midsummer Trail Run  to be held on August 13 in Mount Airy Forest. We need assistance with pre-race and race-day organization, promotion, and volunteer coordination. Benefits include learning how to setup and use the chip timing system. We plan to have three meetings - one in May, June, and July. Please email us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.
  3. Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis:  Social Chair,  Program Chair, and Newsletter Editor. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on June 12.

Thank You 2015 Flying Pig Marathon Mile 22 Fluid Station Volunteers

The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati would like to thank the volunteers that helped out at the Club's Flying Pig Fluid Station at Mile 22.2. Their contribution of  handing out water and Gatorade,  cheering, and picking up trash  made the fluid station another rousing success . Their dedication and enthusiasm made a great impression on the participants.
A special thank you to Tom and Julia Glasscock for coordinating the fluid station for 2014 and Stacy Osborne for providing the music and willing to take requests like the Beastie Boys and David Bowie from runners and volunteers.
Join us at mile 22.2 for the 18th Annual Flying Pig Marathon in 2016.
