WinterWonderland 5k Race Recap
About 70 runners braved the light snow, heavy wind and cold for the RCGC Winterwonderland 5k Run / Walk this past Saturday at England-Idlewild park in Burlington KY. Weather for the run was cold and windy with a light snow at the start. During the race, the sun came out and it cleared up about but a relatively strong wind remained and blew over the chute. Chris Herren was the men's winner with a time of 16:25, and Amy Rudge was the top female with a time of 22:07. Thank you to our sponsors RoadId, Tri-State Running Company and Waltz Business Solutions and our volunteers. Without their help, the race never could have happened. View Results.

Indoor Track Recap
About 15 runners showed up for an Indoor Track Meet with the UC Running Club and the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. After much discussion, it was decided to keep the event a low key affair. Also, a Distance Medley Relay was added with the other events like the 400, 800, 1 mile, 2 Mile and 4 x 800 relay. Conditions outside cooperated by being icy, and slick so people had to run inside where it was nice and warm. I would have loved to do a couple of the events but I was injured and there was no sundial indoors to accurately time me. The two most interesting events were the Distance Medley Relay(1200, 400, 800, Mile) and the 4 x 800 relay as UC's Indoor Track is 175 meters. At least the track was marked enough to figure out how to do it. The fun was trying to count over 18 laps for four different relay teams. A big thank you goes to Jascia Redwine and the UC Running Club for being able to make this happen in January. The club looks forward to doing this again next year.

Valentine's Two Mile Labor of Love - February 12
Please join the Runners' Club this winter in one of the most fun and unusual races you'll find in Cincinnati. In 2009 we made it more unusual by adding a couple of new specialty categories like Ball & Chain(a male and female runner are tethered together so they run together) and Blind Date(you randomly get a partner). In 2010, we brought back the Costume division (need to run the race in costume) . See what we do in 2012! The race is put on by the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati and proceeds go to support running in the Greater Cincinnati area and the NKU Cross Country and Track team.
