Club Members That Did The 2023 Straight Street Climb

 The Straight Street Hill Climb is a .36 mile race up Straight Street in the CUF neighborhood. The race was started by the Clifton Track Club in 1976 and is currently the Sunday before Thanksgiving. In the 1970's and 1980's it was part of a Hill Climb Series, four races up Cincinnati's steepest hills and put on by  a group in the Clifton Track Club known as MAHFU(Mountains and Hill Freaks United).  Straight Street and Monastery Hill were always in the rotation and the other two Hill Races in the series rotated on different streets and hills in Greater Cincinnati.  Since the Straight Street Climb has a significant part in the club's history, here is a list of those members that did the 2023 Straight Street Climb this past Sunday. 2023 Halloween Races In Greater Cincinnati

  Any kid knows that October 31 is Halloween which means food and dressing up in costume.  If you can not wait that long, there are few Halloween themed races throughout the month of October to get you in the Halloween spirit.  Here are a few of them, check the club calendar for a few more.

• HJWL Run For Your Bones 5k, Saturday October 21, 9:00 am, Municipal Brew Works, Hamilton OH. We all have that giving feeling inside our bones!  Come join the first ever Hamilton Junior Women’s League 5k run.  The money raised from the event benefits charitable organizations serving women and children in the Butler County area.  So, come on out and shake your hips and rattle your bones and have a fun day! Visit the race information page for more information.
• Monster Mash & Dash 5k  Walk/Run, Saturday October 21, 4:00 pm, Clinton Massie Campus, Clarksville OH. Wear costume during the run. Registration includes access to trunk or treat after the run. After the race, people are admitted to the post race party where they can listen to a hot band or have a cold beer. 2023 Sue Harder 5k - October 1

 Sue Harder passed away suddenly at the young age of 58 in January 2021. She was a beloved member of the Fleet Feet Running Club. She was a very active runner who ran three marathons and countless half marathons. Her latest half marathon was just a few months before her passing. She was supportive of all new runners and was a friend and cheerleader to all her fellow runners. 

The 2023 Sue Harder Memorial 5K is to be the third annual memorial run for Sue. The run will commemorate Sue by welcoming new friends and old for a 5K in her hometown in Cincinnati as well as virtually across the country. NKU Summer Cross Country Series Starts July 25

  For those who love cross country, Northern Kentucky University has a Cross Country series on their training course on the NKU Campus beginning August 2. They will have 2 mile races on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm on Tuesday July 25, Tuesday August 2 and Tuesday August 9. This event is open to all ages and experience levels and a great way to introduce the sport to middle school/high school or just plain old school runners. Memorial Day Race 47 Recap and Results

 99 runners and walkers came out on Monday May 29 to Lunken Playfield in Cincinnati Ohio for Cincinnati's second oldest race.  Race conditions were sunny and warm and the course was dry and fast.  

    Nick Meiners of  Cincinnati OH was the top male with a time of 16:46.  Larremy Gray was the second male to cross the finish line with a time of 17:58 and  Matthew Hils was the third male who ran a 18:14.  The top female finisher was Kayla Hess who ran a 21:30. Eleanor Schutte was the second female with a time of 22:15 and Annette Molina was third who ran a 22:31.  Roger Nunlist was the top male walker with a time of 38:49 and Leah Weitzman was the top female walker with a time of  35:57 (View Race Results)

  Daniel Boone's Run For Statehood is a low cost half marathon and 5k in Falmouth KY. It provides a great race at a great price in a nice area just outside Greater Cincinnati.  $500 Cash Purse if 100 pre-register by June 12 or 200 for race day. Early registration ends soon for Memorial Day Race 47 - Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race. Back in 2022 and with as many names (Memorial Day Race, Memorial Run, Memorial Day Run, Fork in the Road, Clifton Classic, Conquest de Clifton, RCGC River Run) through the years as Spinal Tap drummers.
