Greater Cincinnati Hill Runs

 Club Member Tammy Otten is putting together an informal running series to conquer the 10 worst (or best, depending on perspective) hills of Cincinnati. There are 7 routes with 10 hills ranging from 4 miles to 7 miles. Meet each Saturday morning at 9:00 at the designated location and Tammy will bring routes. Meeting routes will be posted on the club's Facebook Group a few days before the scheduled run. Full transparency, these routes were created a few years back by Jason Hoyt! The first will be on Saturday 11/11/2023 and will run each Saturday. All paces welcome! Walkers welcome.

Celebrate Global Running Day in Cincinnati This Wednesday June 5

Every day is Running Day in the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati, but Wednesday June 5 is Global Running Day. Global Running Day is the opportunity to promote running as a healthy, easy, and accessible form of exercise. A couple of local running stores are hosting runs:
  • Fleet Feet Cincinnati of Blue Ash is hosting their annual Big Run celebrating Global Running Day and all the local groups are eligible to participate. This year Fleet Feet will donate $1 to Girls on the Run Cincinnati chapter for every mile run or walked during the Big Run. With over 500 participants last year, they are anxious to make a big impact. Girls on the Run, the Flying Pig Marathon and Brooks Running will be there to help celebrate the day.   • Jack Rabbit Sports in O'Bryonville kicks off the Global Running Day festivities at 6:00 pm with a 5K Run / Walk sponsored by New Balance, Nuun hydration, and Three Sons Running Co.  Visit their Facebook Event Page for more information.

Tuesday Night Turtles Group Run begins October 3

Starting this Tuesday October 3, the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati will be having a group run for the slower runners called the Tuesday Night Turtles.  Pace will be 10 minutes and slower per mile.  Meet in Tower Park by the Tennis Courts at 6:30 PM. Routes will be between 2 to 4 miles. All paces are welcome as long as you can run slower than a 10 minute mile. For more information, contact us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.

  • DATE: Begins Tuesday, October 3, 2017 and every Tuesday through the rest of 2017.
  • TIME: 6:30 PM. 
  • PLACE: Tower Park, Ft. Thomas KY.  Meet by the shelter near the tennis courts. 
  • INFO: Starting Tuesday October 3 and every Tuesday through 2017, the Runners' Club will be having a group run for the slower runners called the Tuesday Night Turtles. Meet in Tower Park in Ft. Thomas KY by the Tennis Courts at 6:30 PM.  Routes will be between 2 to 4 miles. All paces are welcome as long as you can run slower than a 10 minute mile. Celebrate National Running Day in Cincinnati this Wednesday June 3

Every day is Running Day in the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati, but Wednesday June 3 is National Running Day. National Running Day is the opportunity to promote running as a healthy, easy, and accessible form of exercise.
I heard through the grapevine that a couple of local organizations are sponsoring runs this Wednesday June 3 to celebrate.
  • The Flying Pig is organizing a group run out of Washington Park on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a fun, non-competitive jog around downtown and Over-the-Rhine. They will provide bibs, water and Gatorade, and a turn-by-turn course sheet for a 4.1 mile run, or you can shorten the course to your liking. Visit The Flying Pig Facebook Page for more information.
  • Bob Roncker's Running Spot will be celebrating National Running Day with a group run from all four of their stores(Newport, O'Bryonville, Loveland, and Glendale) beginning at 6:30 pm.  Visit www.runningspot.com for more information.

12 Days of Christmas Run - January 4

January 4 is the considered the final Day of the Christmas season. To celebrate the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati is hosting a 12 Days of Christmas Run on January 4 at 9:00 AM. Meet at the Tower Park Track in Ft. Thomas KY. The run will be laps around a track combined with bodyweight exercise like pushups, jumping jacks etc following the song The Twelve Days of Christmas. The first day is a lap around the track, 2nd day is two reps of an exercise like pushups followed by a lap around the track, third day is 3 reps of a different exercise followed by the two reps of the 2nd day exercise, followed by a lap around the track until all 12 days are completed.
Actions for each day are below:

New Group Run Begins at Sharon Woods Park

The Runners Club of Greater Cincinnati will a have NEW Sunday Group Run beginning Sunday, October 19 at 8 AM at Sharon Woods Park. Meet at the Harbor. Contact Yanina Rowley for more information

There is a Sunday run that meets at Miami Whitewater Forest. Meet at the Visitor Center at 8:15am and run starts at 8:30 am. Please join us. All paces are welcome.Note:All vehicles entering Hamilton County District Parks must have a valid Motor Vehicle Park Permit($10 annual; $3 daily).

National Running Day - June 4

Every day is Running Day in the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati, but Wednesday June 4 is National Running Day. National Running Day is the opportunity to promote running as a healthy, easy, and accessible form of exercise.
The Flying Pig Marathon is working to encourage Cincinnati's running community to celebrate National Running Day by meeting for a 4 mile run/walk(View route) beginning and ending in Washington Park. Look for Flying Pig branded tents near the main stage.  The run begins at 6:30 PM. Visit the meetup page for more information.

National Running Day this Wednesday June 5

Every day is Running Day in the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati, but Wednesday June 5 is National Running Day. National Running Day is the opportunity to promote running as a healthy, easy, and accessible form of exercise.
Former RCGC club president Gina Meyers is hosting a run at England-Idlewild Park in Burlington KY to celebrate and promote National Running Day in Cincinnati. There will be routes for those who like the trails and for those who prefer the open road. The run begins at 6:00 PM. No Club Group Runs this Weekend

There will be no club Weekend Group Runs from either Lunken on Saturday or Miami Whitewater Forest on Sunday as everyone is either running or volunteering for the Flying Pig Marathon. If we are able to move our legs by Friday evening, the runs will return next weekend.

RCGC Holiday in Lights Run - December 12, 2012

Join the Club for one of our longest running and favorite events... The Holiday in Lights Run. For 2012, we are back at the Central Parkway YMCA and we will be running on 12/12/12 which is almost 12 days from Christmas.
Run Details


When: Wednesday, December 12th,2012
Time: 6:30 pm
Where: Central Parkway YMCA, 1105 Elm Street
What: Run a few miles to the Eden Park Lookout and back.
For: Enjoying the lights of the season.
Distance: Approximately 6.50 miles round trip which is almost a 12k. View Course.
Showers: Available at Central Parkway YMCA
Party: Follows the run at O'Bryons across from the Running Spot.
Cost: A small holiday donation to the YMCA Scholarship Fund.



Do not worry if you can not make the distance, there will be motorized sleds(aka cars) that can take you from the Eden Park Lookout back to the Central Parkway YMCA. Need more information. Check out our calendar.

Thanksgiving Day Race Course Preview Group Run - Change in Time

Due to work commitment on part of the group run leader and Girls on the Run 5k at Sawyer Point at 10:00 AM, the 103rd Annual Thanksgiving Day Race Course Group Run will meet at 7:00 AM. Group Run Update - Lunch Time Group Run On Fridays

The Runners Club of Greater Cincinnati  will be meeting every Friday in downtown Cincinnati for a lunch run throughout the fall.  If you happen to work downtown, join us for a short run on Fridays at 12:15 PM.  Meet by Paul  Brown Stadium at the intersection of Mehring Way and Elm Street.  Distance is 3-5 miles. RRCA National Run@Work Day This Friday September 21

The goal of the RRCA National Run@Work Day is to raise awareness about the importance of daily physical activity for adults. Please run or walk at least thirty minutes on September 21, 2012 in support of RRCA National Run@Work Day. Get your coworkers, friends and others to join you for a 30 minute run before work, during lunch or after work.
If you do not have a run to attend and work downtown, we will celebrate Run@Work Day by inviting all Cincinnati area runners to a run during lunch at 11:30 AM. Meet at the National Underground Freedom Center for a 3-6 mile run. For details, visit our Facebook event page.

RCGC Group Run - Magic Mile


The Magic Mile Global Team Challenge: This is a worldwide event running from September 3- 16, 2012! Bring Back the Mile (BBTM) has accepted the Magic Mile Global Team Challenge that was recently announced by the MarathonTALK crew in Great Britain. The main objectives of the Magic Mile competition are to see how fast you can run a Mile and to promote fun and fitness via the most iconic distance in sport. In the Challenge, BBTM will be leading the Team USA effort, while MarathonTALK will represent Team UK, and The Naked Runners from Australia, Team Rest of the World. To participate, the Runners' Club will have a Group Run on Sunday at 6:30 PM to see how fast you can run a mile. Meet at Otto Armleder Park near the start of the new trail connector. RCGC Group Run - Brewery Course Preview

The Brewery Run is Saturday, September 22 in downtown Cincinnati. To get ready for this race, the club is doing a training run on Sunday, September 9 at 8am.
