2022 Winter Wonderland Recap And Results

95 runners competed in the 2022 Winter Wonderland Run this past Sunday January 23 in cold, windy and  cloudy conditions at Fernbank Park on the (Far) West Side of Cincinnati(View photos). Runners and walkers travailed a 5k course that included wood, concrete, cobblestone asphalt, grass and dirt.  Wyatt Sunday of California KY was the top finisher and top male with a time of 17:39.  He was followed by  Armando Montes  with a time of 19:11 and Douglas Penn with a 20:24. Top Female was Emma Hartley of Lawrenceburg IN who ran a 22:01 followed by Izzy Gehbauer who ran a 23:30  and Mya Bross was third with a time of 24:06. (View Race Results ).

Thank you to our race day volunteers Nancy Barbian, Megan Fryburger, Tom Glasscock, Liz Hofacre, Troy Hofacre, Gina Meyers and Jim Welland.  Their patience and flexibility helped  the club put on a successful race.  See you in 2023.

2022 Winter Wonderland Run - this Sunday January 23.

 

This Sunday January 23 is the RCGC Winter Wonderland Run. It will be a 5k Run/Walk around the paths and trails of Fernbank Park.

Race Number Pickup will open at noon at the Riverview Shelter just inside the park.  For 2022, there is no race day registration. You can register online through January 22,2022 until 9:00 PM.

Volunteer Opportunities - Winter 2022

 Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

•  Winter Wonderland Run - The Winter Wonderland Run needs 10-15 volunteers to help with registration, timing, and post race on January 23. It would take 1-2 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get a few other goodies. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at the online registration page. 
• Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis: Treasurer, and Social Chair. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on February 7.

2022 Winter Wonderland Run - January 23

Join the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati at their annual winter 5k run / walk at Fernbank Park on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Fernbank Park is located along the Ohio River off US Route 50 in the Cincinnati community of Sayler Park.

The race starts at 1:00 PM, with race number pickup beginning at noon at the Riverview Shelter inside the Park. Preregistration is $12.00 for RCGC members / 23 & Under and $17.00 for the general public. Register online at www.runsignup.com through January 22.
Awards will go to the top three overall male runners and top 3 overall female runners, top male and female walker, and top male and female runners in the following age groups: 18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ . Food and drinks will be provided to all participants after the race.Register Now.
