CliftonFest 5k Run / Walk this Sunday September 29

This Sunday September 29 is the Cliftonfest 5k.  This will be a lot of fun. Each runner gets a goody bag with a Graeters' coupon and two drink tickets for use at Cliftonfest.
Race starts at 9:00 AM at Burnett Woods. Race Day Registration opens at 7:30 AM at the Trailside Nature Center inside Burnett Woods. Cost is $20.00($10.00 for a shirt ). You can also sign-up at Packet Pick Up on Saturday September 28 at Cliftonfest from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM for $20.00. • RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Registration opens at 7:30 AM at the Trailside Nature Center inside Burnett Woods. $20 - no discounts.  Add $10 for a shirt.
• PACKET PICK-UP: Cliftonfest, Saturday,  September 28, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM or day of race. Avoid the lines on race day. If you have not registered, you can sign-up on Saturday.
• COURSE: 1 3/4 loop 5k course beginning at the top of Brookline near Jefferson and going through around and maybe over Burnett Woods with a downhill finish on Clifton near Diggs Plaza. View Map.

Wanted: A Few Good Men and Women

The club needs about 3 more  volunteers to help with the finish line this Sunday September 19th for the CliftonFest 5k at 9:00 AM.  The job is easy, fun and last will about 1-2 hours.   Today is the last day to to register for the Inaugural CliftonFest 5k this Sunday September 29 at Burnett Woods  at 9:00 AM.  Mail entries must be postmarked today. Online Registration is available through midnight tonight. 2013 RCGC Grand Prix Update

 The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati is doing a Grand Prix Series in 2013. The goal of the Grand Prix is to include and recognize members that do many of the races that the club puts on or supports. So far, about 80 club members have participated in at least one Grand Prix Race.
 The next race in the Grand Prix will be the Brewery Run Races on September 21 followed by the Cliftonfest 5k on September 29. The next C Race is Run Like Hell 5k on October 26. To be eligible, you need to be:

1. RCGC Member in Good Standing for 2013 
2. Volunteer for two club supported events. 
3. Run at least 7 races – 1 Race needs to be a “B” Race and 1 Race Needs to be a “C” Race No worries! There is still time to catch up and only 7 races are scored including one “B” race and one “C” race.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities - September 2013

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

1. CliftonFest 5k Finish Line - The club needs 5 volunteers to help out with finish line and timing at the CliftonFest 5k on September 29 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM.  Finishline work is quite easy and you will get a CliftonFest 5k shirt plus a goody bag with two beer tickets for your efforts. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.
2. Valentine Day Race Committee - Have you ever wondered what it takes to put together a race? Get in on the action! The club is forming a Race Committee for the club's Valentine Day Race  to be held in February 2014 at Northern Kentucky University. We need assistance with pre-race organization, promotion, sponsorship, and volunteer coordination. The first meeting is scheduled for October. If you can help,  please email us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.
3. Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis:  Social Chair, Membership Chair, Program Chair, Newsletter Editor and Database Manager. Most positions take 1-2 hours a week of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting.

Sin City Hashers Red Dress Hash - September 21

The Sin City Hashers "a drinking club with a running problem” will be hosting their Annual Red Dress Hash this Saturday September 21. They will meet at the Rock Bar Lounge at the Horseshoe Casino in downtown Cincinnati around 4:00PM. Just look for a bunch of people looking cheap in red dresses. More details( ie what to bring etc. besides your sorry butt, id and beer money, lots of beer money) are on their website www.sch4.com.

Hudy 14k and 7k Brewery Runs Sold Out

Queen City Invitational this Friday September 6

The Queen City Invitational is an opportunity to see the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and Northern Kentucky University cross country runners race without a long drive out of town. Come out and see some of the top young local distance runners compete against other. 2013 marks the 32nd year that the meet has been held. The meet is this Friday September 6 at Kingswood Park in Deerfield Township. The men's race is at 5:00 PM followed by the women's race at 5:45 PM.
