Turfway Tick Tock Trot Race Is Tonight At 11:45 PM.

Tonight is the Turfway Tick Tock Trot. It will be a 2 Mile Run around the Turfway Track under the lights going off at 11:45 PM.
Race Day Registration and Number Pickup will open at 10:00 PM as the eighth horse race of the night is designated the Tick Tock Trot for the horses. Race participants can have their photo taken with the winning horse, jockey and trainer in the Winner's Circle. The eighth race goes off at about 10:07 with official results at 10:15(View racing schedule).
Registration will remain open until 11:40 PM.
To get to Race Registration, enter through Gate B of Turfway Park and go up the steps to the second floor. Registration area will be on your right.

Tick Tock Trot Race Day Registration Opens at 10:00 PM New Year's Eve

Tick Tock Trot Race Day Registration will open at 10:00 PM instead of 10:30 PM at Turfway Park. The reason for the change is that I just found out that the eighth horse race of the night is designated the Tick Tock Trot for the horses and race participants can have their photo taken with the winning horse, jockey and trainer in the Winner's Circle. The eighth race goes off at about 10:07 with official results at 10:15(View racing schedule). You will need your race number and race shirt to participate. Come early, enjoy some live racing and get your picture taken with a winning horse and trainer after the eighth race.

Registration Open for the RCGC Winter Wonderland Run

Registration is open for the RCGC Winter Wonderland Run. Join the Runner's Club of Greater Cincinnati at our annual 5k run at Fernbank Park on Sunday, January 24th, 2016. Fernbank Park is located along the Ohio River off US Route 50 in the Cincinnati community of Sayler Park. The race starts at 1:00 PM, with race day registration beginning at noon at the Riverview Shelter  inside the Park. Preregistration is only $5.00 for RCGC members and $10.00 for the general public. Register online at www.runsignup.com. Race day registration will be $10.00 for Club members and $15.00 for general public. Awards will go to the top overall male and female runner, and top male and female runners in the following age groups: 18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ . Food and drinks will be provided to all participants after the race.

December 2015 RCGC Grand Prix Update

Scores have been updated for the 2015 RCGC Grand Prix through the RCGC Turkey Burner Mile Run.(View Standings) using official scoring.  Official scoring is based on your best 7 races run(either A, B, C), your best B race, and a C race.  The goal of the Grand Prix is to include and recognize members that do many of the races that the club puts on or supports. So far, about 80 club members have participated in at least one Grand Prix Race.
 The next races in the RCGC Grand Prix will be the Egg Nog Jog  this Saturday  December 19 followed by the Turfway Tick Tock Trot on December 31.

RCGC Holiday Hangover Recovery Party - January 9

Volunteer Opportunities - December 2015

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

1. Holiday In Lights Run  - The club needs about 3-5 volunteers to serve as a group run leaders for the Holiday in Lights Run on December 14 so people do not get lost or hurt.  If you can help out, send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.
2. Turfway Tick Tock Trot  - The club needs about 10-15 volunteers to help with registration, post race,  finish line and timing at the Turfway Tick Tock Trot on December 31, 2015 at Turfway Park in Florence KY.  The job is easy and it would take 2-3 hours of your time.  Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at the online registration page. 
3. Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis:  Program Chair, and Newsletter Editor. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on January 6.

Frosty 5k - December 19

The Franklin County High School Track and Field Team is hosting the 7th annual Frosty 5k and Merry Mile on December 19th, 2015. The event will run on the Franklin County Schools main campus and will include a Merry Mile for the kids before the 5k. Also, there will be a chili cook-off at the end of the race that will be FREE to all participants. The start time for the Merry Mile is at 10:00 a.m. and the Frosty 5k will start at 10:45. Run For Cathy - December 8

Cathy Chatfield was the runner killed during Sunday's Seven Hills Run when she was struck by a car. The Independent Running Group - Cincinnati will run in her honor from Smale Park downtown. Meet on the Ohio side of the Suspension Bridge on Tuesday December 8 at 6:30 pm. All are welcome! In the News.

2015 RCGC Holiday In Lights Run - December 14

Join the Club for one of our longest running and favorite events... The Holiday in Lights Run. For 2015, we will be meeting at Tin Roof on the Banks and run with the Tin  Roof Running Crew on Monday December 14 at 6:30 pm. Run is open to the public!  We will plan on taking a group photo before we run. After the run, we will be meeting at Tin Roof for drinks and appetizers. First round of drinks will be on the club.
