Looking for a way to beat the summer heat? Join the Runners Club of Greater Cincinnati at the Heat Blister Mile where we hope the temperature is hot but not Death Valley Hot! One mile race at Summit Park in Blue Ash OH on Sunday July 29 at 10:00 AM. Preregistration is $5.00 for club members /21 & Under and $10.00 for General Public.
Race-day Registration opens at 9:00 AM. - $10.00 for Club Members/ 21 & Under. $15.00 for General Public near the dog park. Note: To get the race day discount, please have proof of membership. Grand Prix Update - June 2018

The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati is doing a Grand Prix Series in 2018. The Grand Prix includes many of the races that the club puts on or supports or races that support the club. Scores have been updated through the RCGC Track Mile. Festival of The Bells 5k - July 7

Part of the Festival of the Bells, an annual festival over the first weekend in July in Hillsboro OH for the community to enjoy. 2018 features a Kids Dash. 5k starts at 8:00 am. Kids dash at 10:30 am.

2018 RCGC Track Mile Recap and Results

8 runners participated in the RCGC Track Mile this Past Tuesday June 19 at Marx Stadium on the Walnut Hills School Campus in Cincinnati Ohio in warm conditions for a June evening.  It would have been warmer except for the cloud cover at the start of the race. The course was  4 laps around the Track. With 8 runners, there was one heat and all runners received a finisher medal.
The top male was Rich Webber of Cincinnati OH who ran the 1600 meters in 6:21.0 and followed by Lowell Clark of Cincinnati OH who ran a 6:28.8. Top female was Mel Farnsley of Cincinnati OH who ran a 9:02.8 followed by Kristina Kew who ran a 9:29.6.
Thank you to our race day volunteers Fred Farnsley, Mel Farnsley,  Todd Hofacre, and Rich Webber. Thank you to Cincinnati Public School District and Walnut Hills Schools for allowing the club to use the track for 2018. See you in 2019.

Volunteer Opportunities - Summer 2018

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

1. RCGC Track Mile - The RCGC Track Mile needs 5-10 volunteers to help with registration, timing,  and post race on Tuesday June 19. It would take 1-2 hours  of your time. The jobs is easy and you will get  a few goodies. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.  
2. RCGC Summer Cross Country Series - The Summer Cross County Series needs 2-3 volunteers per week to help with timing and making sure the runners do not get lost on the course.  Dates for the  Series are July 12, July 19 and July 26 at Valley View Nature Preserve in Milford OH. It would take about 1  hour  of your time.  Let us know whether and what date you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.
3. RCGC Heat Blister Mile - The RCGC Heat Blister Mile needs 5-10 volunteers to help with registration, and timing on Sunday July 29. It would take 1-2 hours  of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get the RCGC Technical Shirt plus a few other goodies. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.
4. Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis:  Social Chair,  Program Chair, and Newsletter Editor. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting.

Self-Defense Workshop For Runners - June 23

Cincinnati Quest Martial Arts  is hosting a self-defense workshop for runners on June 23rd in  Springdale school Cincinnati.
 As a hub for runners in the Cincy area, you might know some folks who could really use this potentially life saving info!
The workshop is only $25, and half is being donated to Women Helping Women, a local non-profit that helps protect women from violence. Space is limited to only 20 participants.
