2020 Winter Wonderland Run Recap and Results

About 115 runners competed in the 2020 Winter Wonderland Run this past Sunday January 26 in cold, and partly cloudy conditions at Fernbank Park on the (Far) West Side of Cincinnati(View photos). Runners and walkers travailed a 5k course that included wood, concrete, cobblestone asphalt plus a little bit of mud from the previous days rains.   Ady Mcdonald of Cincinnati was the top finisher and top female runner with of time of 20:21. She was followed by  Rich Webber of Cincinnati who was the top male ran a 21:21. Second Female overall was Kalilah Hicks of Stanton KY who ran a 22:45 and Mya Bross edged out Betsey Clark for third with a time of 24:40. Second male overall was Jerry Medina of Maineville OH who ran a 21:28 and third was Brian Nichols who ran a 22:15. (View Race Results ).

This Sunday January 26 is the RCGC Winter Wonderland Run. It will be a 5k Run/Walk around the paths and trails of Fernbank Park.
Race Day Registration and Number Pickup will open at noon at the Riverview Shelter just inside the park.

2019 Grand Prix Update

Scores have been updated for the 2019 Grand Prix for all races in 2019. Check your score to be sure that it is updated correctly.   Official results will be announced in early February.  Awards will be given to the top overall Male and top overall Female, and Top Male and Female in the Following Age Groups based on official scoring:
Youngsters (Age 29 & Under), SubMasters (Age 30-39), Masters(Age 40-49), GrandMasters(Age 50-59), Legends(60-69), and StillLookingGood(70 & Over).

Volunteer Opportunities - Winter 2020

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

•  Winter Wonderland Run - The Winter Wonderland Run needs 10-15 volunteers to help with registration, timing, and post race on January 26. It would take 1-2 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get a few other goodies. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at the online registration page. 
• Leap Day Race - The Leap Day Race Trot needs 10-15 volunteers to help with registration, timing, and post race on Saturday February 29. It would take 2-3 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get the Leap Day Race Shirt for helping out. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by signing up at the online registration page. 
• Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis: Social Chair, and Program Chair. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on February 10.

Online Registration Open For 2020 RCGC Leap Day Race

2020 is a Leap Year so it is time for the RCGC Leap Day Race - a tradition that began in 2004. It will be a 4k Run / Walk on the Lunken Bike Trail.
Registration is now open.

• TIME: 2:29 PM.
• PLACE: Lunken Playfield, Cincinnati OH
• PRE-REGISTRATION: $16.00 – General Public, $12.00 RCGC Members / 21 & Under. T-shirt: $8.00. Online registration available through Wednesday February 26, 2020.  Group Pricing Available - Need to register online to qualify. 
• RACE DAY REGISTRATION: $20.00 – General Public. $16.00 - RCGC Members / 21 & Under. T-shirt: $10.00. No group discounts on race day. Opens 1:30 PM at the Spirit of '76 Shelter at Lunken Playfield.
• COURSE: 4k out and back course on the Lunken Bike Trail. 
• AWARDS: Overall awards given to the Top 4 Male Runners, Top 4 Female Runners, Top 4 Male Walkers and Top 4 Female Walkers. Awards given to the top male and female runner in the following age groups: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60&over.

The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati is part of the Piggest Raffle Ever with the Flying Pig Marathon for 2020. RCGC Board Meeting - January 14

The next RCGC Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday December 3 in Conference Room 1 on the lower level of the Kenton County Library at 502 Scott Street in Covington KY at 7:00 PM. The meeting is open to all current RCGC members.
We will discuss updates on upcoming races and social events.

2020 Winter Wonderland Run - January 26

Join the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati at our annual winter 5k run / walk at Fernbank Park on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Fernbank Park is located along the Ohio River off US Route 50 in the Cincinnati community of Sayler Park.
The race starts at 1:00 PM, with race day registration beginning at noon at the Riverview Shelter inside the Park. Preregistration is $10.00 for RCGC members / 23 & Under and $15.00 for the general public. Register online at www.runsignup.com through January 17.
Race day registration will be $15.00 for Club members / 23 & Under and $20.00 for general public.
