Memorial Day Race This Monday May 30

This Monday May 30 is the Memorial Day Race, Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race. Race Day Registration opens at 8:00 AM at shelter #1 as you enter the park. Race Day Cost  is $20.00 General Public, and  $15 for those Age 21 and Under / RCGC Members.   Memorial Day Race 46 Shirts are available for $10. Race starts at 9:00 AM at England Idlewild Park. See you there!

RACE iNFORMATION

• DATE: Monday, May 30, 2022 - Open to All.
• TIME: 9:00 AM. 
• PLACE: Shelter #1, England-Idlewild Park, Burlington KY. 
• RACE DAY REGISTRATION / NUMBER PICKUP: Opens at 8:00 AM at the Main Shelter in the Park. Race Day Cost: $20.00 General Public,  $15 - Age 21 and Under / RCGC Members.  Memorial Day Race 43 Shirts are available for $10.  Please provide proof to get the club discount.
• COURSE: 5K course on the park path in England-Idlewild Park. There will be a water station near the halfway point. 
• AWARDS:Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Runners and Top 3 Runners of each division. Male and Female Divisions: Runners: 14/under, 15-18, 19-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-44,45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70+. Weight Division: 215+;
  Walkers: Overall Male and Female, 40 and Under, Masters(40-59) and Legends(60+).

Early registration ends soon for Memorial Day Race 46 - Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race. Back in 2022 and with as many names (Memorial Day Race, Memorial Run, Memorial Day Run, Fork in the Road, Clifton Classic, Conquest de Clifton, RCGC River Run) through the years as Spinal Tap drummers.

 Online Registration is available through Friday May 27.  Cost is $15- General Public and $10 - RCGC Members / 21 & Under. Optional Memorial Day Race 46 shirt available for $8.00. Register now before the price goes up. Visit the club website for more information about the race.

RCGC Grand Prix Update May 2022

 The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati is doing a Grand Prix Series in 2022. The goal of the Grand Prix is to include and recognize members that do many of the races that the club puts on, supports or races that support the club. So far about 35 club members have participated in at least one Grand Prix Race.  Next race in the series is the RCGC Memorial Day Race.  Below are the top ten males and females through the Better Together Hebron 5k. 2022 Spring Volunteer Opportunities

 Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

•  Memorial Day Race - The Memorial Day Race needs 10-15 volunteers to help with registration, timing, and post race on May 30. It would take 1-2 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get a few other goodies. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at the online registration page. 
• Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis: Treasurer, Vice President, and Social Media Coordinator. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on June 13.

Memorial Day Race 46 - May 30

 Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race is back in 2022 for number 46. The 2022 Memorial Day Race is at England-Idlewild Park in Burlington KY at 9:00 AM on May 30, 2022. Since most runners are swimming in T-shirts and technical shirts, the club made the Memorial Day Race shirt for 2022 an optional purchase. It will be a technical shirt for the preregistration price of $8.   Register online.

Thank You 2022 Flying Pig Fluid Station Volunteers

 

The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati would like to thank the volunteers that helped out at the Club's Flying Pig Fluid Station at Mile 22 on  May1. Their contribution of  handing out water and Gatorade,  cheering, and picking up trash  made the fluid station another rousing success . Their dedication and enthusiasm made a great impression on the participants.
