2019 RCGC Summer Cross Country Series Race #1 Recap - There Will Be Bugs

The 52nd Annual Summer RCGC Cross Country Series held its 1st race at the Valley View Nature Preserve, near Pattison Elementary in Milford this past Thursday July 11. About 5 runners and 200 bugs showed up to race in hot and humid conditions. The course was hard from the lack of rain from the past couple of weeks. The runners were motivated to run faster than the bugs who dropped out after the first tenth of a mile.
Top male was Greg Homan of Coldwater OH covered the 2 loop 3.1 mile brass knuckle course in 24:45. The top female was his daughter Palin Homan who ran a time of 28:02.  Greg & Palin's goal is to run a 5k race in every single county in Ohio. They were at the Series in Milford to race in Clermont County which is the 32nd County in Ohio where they have raced a 5k.
Thank you to Tom Glasscock, and Todd Hofacre for timing and course set-up. Join us next Thursday July 18 at Pattison Elementary at 7:00 pm for the second race of the RCGC Summer Cross Country Series.
