2019 Halloween Races in Greater Cincinnati

Any kid knows that October 31 is Halloween which means food and dressing up in costume.  If you can not wait that long, there are few Halloween themed races throughout the month of October to get you in the Halloween spirit.   Here are a few of them, check the club calendar for a few more.

  • Running Scared 5k, Saturday October 12, 6:00 PM, Veteran's Memorial Stadium, 1600 West Street, Reading OH - A flat 3.1 mile course through a “spooky” cemetery, ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest!  Participants are encouraged to run/walk in costumes. After the race, people are admitted to the post race party where they can listen to a hot band or have a cold beer. They can enjoy food and drinks from generous sponsors and listen to the live jammin’ band while they stay toasty warm inside or gather around the roaring fire outside.  Proceeds benefit Youth Education.  Visit www.runningscared5k.org for more information.
  • Ivy Tech Monster Mash Dash 5k Run / Walk, Saturday October 19th 8:30 AM, Ivy Tech Community College, Lawrenceburg IN,  Enjoy a morning run or walk along the spooktaculary scenic Ohio River! Visit www.stuartroadracing.com for more information.
  • Haunted Hustle Four Mile, Saturday October 19th Noon, The Stretch, downtown Cincinnati OH,  4EG is throwing a haunted Halloween party. Not only is this going to be an epic party, it has a themed 4-mile race! Come dressed as your favorite animal, celebrity, or favorite whatever for a four-mile hustle through the fall foliage along the Ohio River. After the race, enjoy a spooktacular celebration.   • Ghost N Goblin 5k Run/Walk, Tuesday October 22, 6:30 PM, Welcome Stadium, 1601 S. Edwin Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH  - The Ghost N Goblin 5k has been a Dayton Halloween tradition for over 30 years! Presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, the 2019 Ghost N Goblin is expected to be the best and biggest ever! Post race party with refreshments and a D.J. Skid Row Marathon - One Night Only - October 14

The Award-winning documentary Skid Row Marathon is about a criminal court judge who organizes a running club comprised of homeless, recovering alcoholic and paroled men and women on LA’s Skid Row who seek to rediscover their sense of self-worth and dignity. View Trailer
It will be in theaters nationwide for a one night showing on Monday October 14, 2019 at 7:00 PM.
In addition to the movie, it includes a “Where Are They Now” segment.

    Online Registration Open For 2019 Ault Park Mile

    Online registration is open for the 2019 Ault Park Mile  which is held on November 17, 2019.  Awards given to the Top Male and Top Female Runner. Also age group awards are given for the Top Male and Top Female in the following Age Groups: 12 & Under,13-18,  19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Over.

    Grand Prix Update - September 2019

    The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati is doing a Grand Prix Series in 2019. The Grand Prix includes many of the races that the club puts on or supports or races that support the club. Scores have been updated through the Aruna Run using official scoring.  Official Scoring is your best 7 races plus your next best B Race, and a C Race.  About 60 club members have participated in one Grand Prix Race.  Next races in the series are  the Brewery Run 14k and 7k, Run for the Bottoms 10k  and 5k and the Bean Bash Dash.   Visit the RCGC Grand Prix page for more information about the Grand Prix. View scores.

    14th Annual RRCA Run@Work Day - September 20

    The 14th Annual RRCA Run@Work Day and 8th Run@School Day presented by the RRCA is Friday September 20. Companies,businesses, running clubs, fitness centers, schools and other groups across the country are participating with planned fun runs and walks to get people moving.
    The Run@Work Day and Run@School Day goal is to encourage adults and children to get 30-minutes of exercise each day, in accordance with the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
    Create an event at your work place with your co-workers or find an event to get moving. Get a planning kit, fact sheet, and posters on the RRCA website to help get you started!
    Post your event on the RRCA Run@Work Day Fan Page to let others know what you are doing on September 20.

    2019 Queen City Invitational - August 31

    The Queen City Invitational is an opportunity to see the local college cross country teams like University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and Northern Kentucky University race without a drive out of town. Come out and see the top upcoming young local distance runners compete against each other. 2019 marks the 38th year that the meet has been held.     Run or walk for an enslaved woman by name whom the Aruna Project staff personally know and are working to free from the brothels.
