Thank You 2021 Flying Pig Fluid Station Volunteers

The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati would like to thank the volunteers that helped out at the Club's Flying Pig Fluid Station at Mile 22.2 on October 31. Their contribution of  handing out water and Gatorade,  cheering, and picking up trash  made the fluid station another rousing success . Their dedication and enthusiasm made a great impression on the participants.
A special thank you to Tom  Glasscock for coordinating the fluid station for 2021. Join us at mile 22.2 for the 2022 Flying Pig Marathon.

RCGC Grand Prix Update October 2021

  The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati Grand Prix Series returns for 2021. The Grand Prix includes many of the races that the club puts on or supports or races that support the club. Scores have been updated through the Brewery Run.  Race Scoring for 2021 includes your best 5 races plus two B Races.   About 20 club members have participated in one Grand Prix Race.  Next races in the series are the 50 West Mile and Flying Pig Races.    Visit the RCGC Grand Prix page for a list of eligible races and more information about the Grand Prix. View scores.

2021 Flying Pig Fluid Station Volunteers Wanted

The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati will have a fluid station at mile 22 for the 2021 Flying Pig Marathon. Mile 22 is where the marathon really begins for the runners and your support and encouragement means plenty to them. If you are running the marathon, please encourage your friends and family to help out. If you're not running, join us for a little fun and help us help the runners at mile 22.

2021 Halloween Races In Greater Cincinnati

Any kid knows that October 31 is Halloween which means food and dressing up in costume.  If you can not wait that long, there are few Halloween themed races throughout the month of October to get you in the Halloween spirit.   Here are a few of them, check the club calendar for a few more.

  • Already Loved Trick or Trot 5k, Saturday October 9, 9:30 AM, Armco Park Shelter 33, Lebanon OH -   Proceeds Benefit Already Loved Foster Care Outreach. Visit the race information page for more information.
  • Running Scared 5k, Saturday October 9, 6:00 PM, Veteran's Memorial Stadium, 1600 West Street, Reading OH - A flat 3.1 mile course through a “spooky” cemetery, ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest!  Participants are encouraged to run/walk in costumes. After the race, people are admitted to the post race party where they can listen to a hot band or have a cold beer. They can enjoy food and drinks from generous sponsors and listen to the live jammin’ band while they stay toasty warm inside or gather around the roaring fire outside.  Proceeds benefit Youth Education.  Visit www.runningscared5k.org for more information.
  • New Richmond Pumpkin Run, Saturday October 16, 10:00 AM, Armco Park Shelter 33, Lebanon OH -   Community 5K Run/Walk along the scenic Ohio River in New Richmond, Ohio!  Followed by a Fall Family Festival at Hauserman Park. Visit the race registration page for more information.
  • Ghost N Goblin 5k Run/Walk, Tuesday October 19, 6:30 PM, Welcome Stadium, 1601 S. Edwin Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH  - The Ghost N Goblin 5k has been a Dayton Halloween tradition for over 30 years! Presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, the Ghost N Goblin is expected to be the best and biggest ever! Post race party with refreshments and a D.J.   • PAWS Zombie Walk & Furry 5K, Saturday October 23, 2021, 10:00 AM, Smith Park, 500 Tytus Avenue Middletown OH 45044. Calling all dog walkers/runners and halloween enthusiasts! PAWS presents the Zombie Walk & Furry 5k! This Halloween is going to the dogs! Your pups can expect all of their favorites, Treats, exercise, Toys, new pals to sniff and of course the cutest costumes!     RRCA Run@Work Day - September 17

    The 15th Annual RRCA Run@Work Day and 9th Run@School Day presented by the RRCA is Friday September 17. Companies,businesses, running clubs, fitness centers, schools and other groups across the country are participating with planned fun runs and walks to get people moving.
    The Run@Work Day and Run@School Day goal is to encourage adults and children to get 30-minutes of exercise each day, in accordance with the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
    Create an event at your work place with your co-workers or find an event to get moving. Get a planning kit, fact sheet, and posters on the RRCA website to help get you started!
