 With live racing returning, check out the club calendar for Cincinnati Road Races. It includes 5Ks, 10Ks, Marathons, Half Marathons, and about any other distance that you could imagine running. It includes Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati events, and a few regional and national races but mainly Cincinnati and Northern KY local road races. Memorial Day Race 45 Virtual For 2021

Due to the continued impact of the coronavirus, the 2021 RCGC Memorial Day Race aka Memorial Day Race 45  is a virtual run / walk. For participating in the 2021 Memorial Day Race, the registration fee will cover a virtual bib, a technical shirt and a commemorative dog tag key chain. The virtual race begins on May 15,2021 - Armed Forces Day and will end on Wednesday June 2,2021 - National Running Day. RCGC Membership Update

 Due to COVID-19 for 2020, the RCGC Board of Directors has approved an additional year of membership for RCGC members in good standing as of August 31, 2020. If your membership lapsed, or you are prospective member, join by December 31,2020 and you will also be granted an additional year of membership. Register online or use the mail form.  Hopefully, the virus will end soon and the club can get back to running.  Check Membership.

Final Week For 2020 Piggest Raffle Ever

ORRRC Ghost and Goblins 5K Virtual For 2020

The 35th annual Ghost 'n Goblin 5k is virtual this year! The race supports the non-profit Ohio River Road Runners Club, as well as school running programs in and around Dayton, OH through the Youth Running Challenge. It will include a Facebook costume contest and lots of fun giveaways for the 200+ door prizes that were generously donated. 

 If you're willing and able to pass the information along to your members, the race would love the extra exposure and chance to reach runners and walkers that they wouldn't normally see at a live event.

RCGC Grand Prix Cancelled For 2020

Due to Covid-19 forcing the cancellation of many of the races that make up the RCGC Grand Prix, the Grand Prix is cancelled for 2020. The club will look forward to resuming the Grand Prix in 2021.

2020 Memorial Day Race Shirt Available For Purchase

The 2020 Memorial Day Race  has a  few shirts left over from our virtual race.  They are white technical shirts with the club logo on front and a design on the back. We have Small, Medium, Large, XL and a couple 2XL. If you would like a shirt from our our virtual race, you can get them over at the  Memorial Day Race Online Registration for the price of 10.95.   They will be available for purchase through July 15. Order soon before the deadline  or we run out of the size that you want.

Great American 5000 Virtual Race

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy! I thought you might be interested in Sports Backers newest event, the Great American 5000. This is a virtual team race across the United States, starting in San Francisco and ending in New York City. Teams can be made up of up to 24 people although awards will be given out for 12-person and 24-person teams. Since this is a virtual race, your team members can be from across the country (or the world). It is $50 per person and includes a medal, shirt, and more. Feeding America is the event charity.

The rules are simple – each team can only run/walk 24 hours in a day. Those miles can be done at any time (meaning two team members can be running at the same time) but the total hours in one day can only add up to 24. Each team member can enter their daily mileage in the tracker and watch your team dot move across the country with the other team dots. The race starts on June 14^th.

SJO-NO Virtual Run

To abide by the social distancing rules set in place to keep us safe, St. Joseph Orphanage has created the SJO-NO RUN! Please join them for their first ever virtual fundraiser! From April 20th to May 22nd, donors, volunteers, staff and friends of SJO will band together to raise funds and healthy steps for the children that they serve. Each dollar raised brings them a step closer to the finish line of $30,000! So far about 5,000 has been raised. The virtual run has the following features:

•  Each participant can create their own fundraising page to share with family, friends and on social media! 
• The page will track both miles run (or walked, or biked etc.) as well as funds raised. 
• When you hit the $100 fundraising mark, Saint Joseph Orphanage will send you a SJO-NO RUN t-shirts. 
• There will be a winner in miles completed and funds raised. 

This is a great way to get the entire family involved. Raise funds for kids in crisis while staying healthy with your loved ones. RRCA Survey Regarding Runners' Attitudes on the COVID-19

RRCA has launched a nationwide survey to learn how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected participation in running events as well as locally organized group runs and training programs. Please share the survey with your members or event participants.

 The goal of the survey is to gather data from runners to better understand what changes they expect to see within the running community and event industry, post-pandemic. Some preliminary data is already noted in the Looking Forward: Guide for Races.
 Runners and race directors, like the population at large, hope to return to "normal" at some point in the coming months. Runner feedback will be helpful as the RRCA works with the consortium of race directors, club leaders, health experts, industry leaders, and more in partnership to update guidelines and recommendations to assist the running community in formulating best practice plans for post-pandemic running in the coming months. Results will be shared in a few weeks following data review and analysis. Take the Survey.

2020 RCGC Annual Meeting Postponed

Typically, the 2020 RCGC Annual Meeting is held the 2nd Monday in April.  Due to the Corona Virus Outbreak and State Quarantine, the 2020 RCGC Annual Meeting is postponed. The club is looking to reschedule it sometime in June 2020. Check www.cincinnatirunning.com for the latest information regarding the RCGC Annual Meeting.
