Running
Spot
fame,
with

of
Morgan’s
Canoe

It
was
inspired
by
the
Ironman
Triathlon
in
Kona,
Hawaii
in
1979
and
was
the
first
triathlon
of
its
kind
produced
in
the
U.S.
The
competition
is
comprised
of
a
6
mile
canoe/kayak
race,
5.5
mile
run
and
18
mile
bike
race
in
that
order.
Different
divisions
include
Male/Male,
Male/Female,
Female/Female,
Parent/Child
and
Masters.
There
even
have
been
grandparents
teamed
up
with
grandkids!
Participants
enter
for
a
variety
of
reasons…whether
it
be
to
win,
to
just
have
fun,
to
set
a
goal
like
weight
loss,
or
to
bond
with
their
partner(whether
it
is
a
friend,
co-‐worker,
child,
spouse
or
significant
other)
in
a
fun
way.
“
I
have
done
triathlons
and
endurance
events
from
Berlin
to
Bangkok.
I
can
say
without
a
doubt
that
the
LMT
is
my
favorite
race
anywhere.
I
have
done
this
race
more
times
over
the
last
15
years
than
any
other
race”
says
Bernie
Casey,
Race
Participant.
The
triathlon
benefits
the
Cincinnati
Association
for
the
Blind
as
well
as
many
Warren
County
Boy
Scout
groups.
Gary
Morgan
continues
to
produce
and
direct
this
event.
The
Morgan
Family
pioneered
the
canoeing
and
paddlesport
industry
in
the
Southwestern
Ohio
and
Southeastern
Indiana
regions
over
50
years
ago.
