After spending about an hour on the local newspaper website trying to get results from this past weekend's local cross country invitationals, I came across http://www.milesplit.us. They bill themselves as the nation's premier network for high school track & field and cross country. I do not know about that, but they did have results for both Ohio and Kentucky Cross Country Inviationals this past weekend. They had every invitional that I had an interest in and some local to the Greater Cincinnati area, that I did not know about. The site has a Kentucky portal and an Ohio portal so you can find out how your local high schools did or how the local runners who ran in the club's summer cross country series fared.

David Corfman will host a training run on Saturday, September 5th at Mount Airy Forest for a prelude to the Stone Steps 50k in October. It starts at 7:00 AM, but they will be back to The Oval at 8:00 AM if you want to join them then. The course will not be marked. Look for the white Hyundai Sonata with the ultramarathon- related license plate frames. It is not aiming for any distance, so join them for any distance you wish to go whether it is 5, 10, 20 or 30 miles. Contact David at RD@StoneSteps50k.com.
Once a year, the Sin City Hashers are more than just “a drinking club with a running problem”. They become “a drinking club with a running/walking/fashion problem”. Join them as they paint the town RED and make a spectacle of themselves in their annual Red Dress Run. They will meet this Saturday August 29 about 4:00PM in Newport. Details are on their website www.sch4.com.

He is looking for Cincinnati runners and walkers who are interested in collecting information on Cincinnati's steps for addition to his web site data base. About 200 runners including many current and former NKU cross country runners raided the Northern Kentucky University campus on Friday August 15 for the 15th Annual Brian Rohne 5k Run/Walk. Current NKU Cross Country Runner Drew Harris was the top male with a time of 15:05. The overall women's winner was high schooler Michelle Thomas with a time of 18:35. Congratulations to both. Go to www.cincinnatirunning.com to view complete race results.
The race is held in memory of Brian Rohne. Brian was the most valuable athlete for the Men's Cross Country team at Northern Kentucky University in 1992. He was fatally injured in January 1993 on a training run. Proceeds raised from the race go to the Brian Rohne Memorial Fund, which is used to assist future runners to pursue that dream of collegiate greatness at NKU.
About 60 runners braved the hills, the fallen trees, the rocks and a little bit of mud on Tuesday August 11, 2009 for A Midsummer Night's Trail Run in Mount Airy Forest. Nobody got lost on the trail that I know about but we had a few scrapes and falls. Congratulations to our overall men's winner Mischa McCormick with a time of 34:12, and the overall women's winner Linda Daigle with a time of 44:05. A big thank you goes to our volunteers Tom Glasscock, Mike Hauser, Eileen Hogan, Greg McCormick, Gina Meyers, Dave Nelson, Josie Russo, Tony Russo, Mike Smith, and Laura Wagner for helping make it a success. About 60-70 runners raced in relatively humid conditions on a slow course due to rain the past two days. David once again was the top male runner by running a 17:20 for the win.
Dani Daily was the top female this week as she ran a 21:51.
