Freeze Your Tail Off Mile - February 26

Looking for a way to beat the winter blues? Join us at the Freeze Your Tail Off Mile where we hope the temperature is below freezing but not below zero! The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati will be hosting a one mile race at Summit Park in Blue Ash OH on Sunday February 26 at 1:00 PM.  Pre- Registration available through February 22.  Cost is $5.00 for  Club Members / 21 & Under and $10.00 for General Public.
Race-day registration opens at Noon at Summit Park - $10.00 for Club Members/ 21 & Under. $15.00 for General Public. Awards for the top overall male and top overall female plus age group awards. Questions? Visit the online registration page or contact us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com.

37th Annual Labor of Love Run - February 12

Join the Runners' Club this winter in one of the most unusual races you'll find in Cincinnati. Register as a couple and run in one of the specialty couple categories like Ball & Chain(a male and female runner are tethered together so they run together).  If you don't have a partner, we can help find you one in the Blind Date Category.  If you don't want a partner, you can always run as a Single.
The race is put on by the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati and proceeds go to support running in the Greater Cincinnati area and the Cancer Relay for Life at NKU.

RACE DETAILS
  • DATE: Sunday, February 12, 2017 - Open to All.
  • TIME: 10:00 AM - Note change in time for 2017.
  • PLACE: Albright Health Center, Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, KY. View map.
  • PRE-REGISTRATION: ends Monday, February 6, 2017.
  • PACKET PICK-UP: Albright Health Center day of race beginning at 8:30 AM.
  • RACE DAY REGISTRATION:  Albright Health Center day of race beginning at 8:30 AM. Cost $25.00. Includes a long sleeve shirt while supplies last. 
  • DIRECTIONS: 471 ends at 27, go straight through light. Turn right at next light (NKU). Take first left, then first right. Parking available in the garage.
  • COURSE: 2 mile course beginning at Albright Health Center.

Join the 2017 Runners' Club Heart Mini Team

The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati has a team participating at the 40th Annual Heart Mini-Marathon. For joining the team, you get access to the club's Heart Mini Suite where you can put your stuff and no need to share bathrooms with 15,000 participants. You can sign up to be part of the team at this year's (March 11th - March 12th) run/walk events by identifying yourself as part of Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati while registering. You can also join from our team page.  If filling out a paper form indicate Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati  as your team.   The 15k and Half Marathon begin at 7:30 AM this year and the 5k begins at 10:30 AM.

2017 Winter Wonderland Run Recap

About 135 runners competed in the 2017 Winter Wonderland Run this past Sunday January 22 in warm and sunny conditions at Fernbank Park on the (Far) West Side of Cincinnati(View photos). Runners travailed a 5k course that included wood, concrete, asphalt plus mud from the previous week's rain.    Cy Young of Winchester OH was the top finisher with of time of 20:34 followed by Even Clinkenbeard who ran a 21:21 and Len Schuster who ran a 21:32. Peg Doerger  of Cincinnati OH was the top female and 4th overall with a time of 21:50 followed by Diana Filtz who ran a 22:15 and Karen Schuster who ran a 24:10.  (Race Results ).

2017 Winter Wonderland Run this Sunday January 22

This Sunday January 22 is the RCGC Winter Wonderland Run. It will be a 5k Run/Walk around the paths and trails of Fernbank Park.
Race Day Registration and Number Pickup will open at noon at the Riverview Shelter just inside the park.

RCGC Grand Prix Back For 2017

The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati will be doing a Grand Prix Series in 2017. The RCGC Grand Prix includes and recognizes many of the races that the club runs, supports, started or helped start. It includes several popular and unique races in Cincinnati that the club has supported over the years.
New for 2017 is the elimination of the volunteer requirement and the addition of volunteer points.  Since the club is a volunteer organization, volunteer points will be added to the scoring. Earn 10 points by volunteering at club supported events and members can earn up to 30 points by volunteering at  3 club supported  events. 9 races will still be scored which includes at least one B Race and one C race plus 7 other races.
Awards will be given to the top overall Male and Female, and Top Male and Female in the Following Age Groups -  Youngsters(29&Under), Submasters (30-39), Masters(40-49), GrandMasters(50-59) and Legends(60 & over).  Also back for 2017 will be the 700 Club – Any member who score over 700 points in the 2017 Grand Prix receives a commemorative award.

2016 RCGC Mile Series Update - January 2017

Scores have been updated for the 2016 RCGC Mile Series for all races in the series. Check your scores to be sure that all scores have been updated correctly.   Official standings will be announced in early February.  Awards will be given to the top overall Male and Female, and Top Male and Female in the Following Age Groups based on their top seven mile races:
29 & Under, 30-39, Masters(40-49), Grand Masters(50-59) and Legends(60 & over)
For 2017, there will be no year long RCGC Mile Series, but the club is exploring the option of either a Summer or possibly Fall Mile Series.  Thank you to all the members that participated in the 2016 RCGC Mile Series.

2016 Turfway Tick Tock Trot Recap and Results

About 25 runners flocked to Turfway Park in Florence Kentucky for the Turfway Tick Trot. Conditions were damp, cloudy but comfortable on New Year's Eve night. A  few runners were able to successfully navigate the synthetic track before 2017 hit. Sean Vandermosten was the top runner with a 10:51 followed by Jerry Medina who ran 12:51. Jodi Smith was the top female with a 21:52 followed by Hallie Endres who ran a 22:08. Go to www.cincinnatirunning.com for a complete list of results.
