The next RCGC Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday November 1 at the Foot Doctor at 5521 Montgomery Road in Norwood OH at 7:30 PM. The meeting is open to all current RCGC members.

2017 Ault Park Mile - This Sunday October 29

This Sunday October 29 is the Ault Park Mile. Please join us on a unique mile course around the Ault Park Circle. Race Day Registration opens at 9:00 AM at the shelter in the circle and near the former soccer field. Race Day Cost  is $15.00 General Public,  $10 Age 21 and Under / RCGC Members. Shirts if you want one are 10.00 on race day.   Race starts at 10:00 AM. See you there!

RCGC Turkey Burner Mile - November 26

Looking for a way to work off those extra holiday calories? Join us at the Turkey Burner Mile! The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati will host a one mile race at Summit Park in Blue Ash OH on Sunday November 26th at 1:00 PM. Awards to the Top Male and Top  Female Runner and to the Top Male and Top Female in the following Age Groups: 12 & Under,13-18,  19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Over.
Cost is $10 - General Public and $5 for RCGC Members or 21 & under for early registration.
Online registration available at runsignup.com through November  24, 2017 until 11:59 AM.

RCGC Grand Prix Update - October 2017

Scores have been updated for the 2017 RCGC Grand Prix through the Bean Bash Dash.(View Standings) using official scoring.  Official scoring is based on your best 7 races run(either A, B, C), your next best B race, and a C race.  The goal of the Grand Prix is to include and recognize members that do many of the races that the club puts on or supports. So far, about 75 club members have participated in at least one Grand Prix Race.
 Upcoming races in the RCGC Grand Prix include the the Ault Park Mile and Mason Half Marathon and 5k.

Volunteer Opportunities - Fall 2017

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:
  1. RCGC Ault Park Mile - The RCGC Ault Park Mile  needs 5-10 volunteers to help with registration, timing, and post race on Sunday October 29. It would take 1-2 hours  of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get the Ault Park Mile Shirt. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at the online registration page

Mason Half-Marathon and 5k - November 5

Join the Epilepsy Foundation for the 2017 Mason Half Marathon and 5k!
Come out on Sunday, November 5, 2017, for the Mason Half Marathon, 5K run/walk to support those in our community who struggle from the effects of seizures. Runners follow a beautiful course through local parks and the streets of Mason. Chip timing is used and all finishers of the 5K run/walk and of the half marathon will receive finisher medals as well as a great event shirt. Visit www.epilepsy-ohio.org for more information.

2017 Halloween Races in Greater Cincinnati

Any kid knows that October 31 is Halloween which means food and dressing up in costume.  If you can not wait that long, there are few Halloween themed races throughout the month of October to get you in the Halloween spirit.   Here are a few of them: 
  • Halloween Without Heroin 5k, Saturday October 7, 12:00 PM, Damon Park, Middletown OH - Join the Salvation Army for their Halloween Without Heroin 5K Race/Walk. This year the race is at Damon Park, right where the Salvation Army Safe House sits. Cost of the 5K is $15 for adults preregistration and $20 raceday.   • Running Scared 5k, Saturday October 7, 6:00 PM, Veteran's Memorial Stadium, 1600 West Street, Reading OH - A flat 3.1 mile course through a “spooky” cemetery, ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest!  Participants are encouraged to run/walk in costumes. After the race, people are admitted to the post race party where they can listen to a hot band or have a cold beer. They can enjoy food and drinks from generous sponsors and listen to the live jammin’ band while they stay toasty warm inside or gather around the roaring fire outside.  Proceeds benefit Youth Education.  Visit www.runningscared5k.org for more information.
  • Trick or Trail, Sunday October 8, 2:00 PM, Oxford Community Park, Oxford OH - A 1K or 5K-ish Run/Walk in Costume along the Trails of the Oxford Community Park.  A Great Day of FUN for the Whole Family to Enjoy! Proceeds support The Luna Cares Fund which was created to help local women battling cancer with the financial burdens caused from medical costs incurred during treatments.   • Mud-o-Ween 5k, Saturday October 21, 10:00 AM, Countryside YMCA, Lebanon OH - Take on the muckiest challenge! Three miles on all terrain trail run. You won’t come out clean after you slide down the ravine and run the creek trail. Forget about tires or barrels as obstacles– worry about fallen trees to block your way. Think you can cross the pond and still be recognized by your friends? Come race dressed as your favorite super hero if you dare. See what you can accomplish at the Countryside YMCA Mud-O-Ween!     • Ghost N Goblin 5k Run/Walk, Tuesday October 24, 6:30 PM, Welcome Stadium, 1601 S. Edwin Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH  - The Ghost N Goblin 5k has been a Dayton Halloween tradition for over 30 years! Presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, the 2016 Ghost N Goblin is expected to be the best and biggest ever! Post race party with refreshments and a D.J.     Pacers needed for Detroit Marathon, International Half Marathon & US Only Half Marathon on 10/15/17

    Got in an email:
    Beast Pacing is looking for pacers for the Detroit Marathon & Half Marathon & International Half Marathon (10/15/17) in Detroit, MI. They need marathon pacers for the following time slots: 3:10 and 3:25.
     If you are interested in pacing this or others please send an email to info@beastpacing.com with your last 3 marathon or half marathon times (whichever is applicable), the races you ran them at, your phone #, address, singlet/shirt size, and if you own a Garmin or other GPS type watch.
     All pacers receive a complimentary entry into the race and all the goodies the regular runners receive (shirt, medal, official time, swag bag, and post race food etc.) Pacers are not allowed to wear music while pacing and are there to encourage and help other runners reach their goals.
     If you are motivated, love to help others, and can keep a consistent pace they'd love to hear from you!
