Poll Results for January
Here are the final results from the January poll. The question was: How many miles do you plan to run in 2011? 1000-1499 miles was the top vote getter with 9 votes followed by 500-999 with 6 votes and 1500-1999 with 4 votes. Thank you to the 25 that voted. The full results will be left up for the next couple of days. The poll question for February will be out sometime next week.

Shires of Vermont Marathon - May 15, 2011
The 2011 Shires of Vermont Marathon is a new marathon in Southern Vermont. It will be held on May 15, 2011. Course is a scenic point-to-point 26.2 mile course connecting the Shire Towns of Bennington and Manchester as they celebrate their 250th anniversaries! Casting Call - Desperate Landscapes
Desperate Landscapes is beginning to cast again in the Cincinnati area for spring and summer and they are looking for young, fun, energetic homeowners to help pump up their curb appeal. There is no cost to the homeowners. They bring the plants, the paint, the supplies and even the food needed to get the job done in one day. The homeowners chosen need to provide some personality, sweat equity and neighbors willing to go on TV to complain about the ugly front yard.

Race Committee Meeting this Tuesday February 1
Have you ever wondered what it takes to put together a race? Do you have an idea for a race, but do not know how to get started with putting it together? The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati is seeking volunteers to serve on a race committee for 2011. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at the Clifton Recreation Center at 6:30 PM. Following the meeting will be the board meeting. Club Group Run this Saturday January 29
The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati will meet this Saturday January 29 for a Cincinnati River Run. Meet at 7:45am and run starts at 8:00 am. Please join us for a trial run. If there is enough interest we may start a weekly Saturday run from this location. All paces are welcome.

  • Location: Meet at 2540 River Road, Cincinnati. Parking available on Galvin Lane and River Road.
  • Directions: Get to River Road / US 50. Stay on River Road. Turn right at second light at Mount Hope Rd. Turn left on Galvin to park.
  • Description: This run will be about a 7 miler from the near Westside to the Cincinnati Riverfront crossing into Kentucky and back and coming back by Paul Brown Stadium. We may add Sawyer Point and Friendship Park if everyone feels for to the distance.

Cure2Endure begins this Monday January 31
Cure2Endure is a 5 week Injury Prevention Clinic for the Endurance Athlete. It will run every Monday at the Running Spot in O'Bryonville from 6:00PM - 7:30 PM for 5 weeks beginning on January 31. It is a great way to learn injury prevention. A couple of our club members took it and LOVED IT! They highly recommend it to anyone who has been injured or does not want to get injured. "Marathonville" by KIBO Productions highlights small-town marathons throughout America and beyond. They recently released the first four episodes which feature The Mesa Falls Marathon in Ashton, Idaho. A new chapter is released every 2 weeks and a new episode is produced every 2-3 months.
