Runners' Club Member Completes Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run
Just got this from the club snail mail:
Over the past Labor Day Weekend, Marty Fritzhand, a longtime member of the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati, completed the Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run in Utah. Marty was third in his age group and finished with a time of 34 hours, 51 minutes and 1 second. It was his 23rd 100 mile ultra, but more remarkable is that he is 66. The Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run stretches from Layton, Utah to Midway, Utah and covers some of the most beautiful scenery in Utah. There is a cumulative elevation gain of approximately 26,882 feet, as well as a cumulative loss of approximately 26,131 feet throughout the course. It is arguably the second toughest 100 mile race in the country.

RCGC Run@Work Day Recap
A few of us showed up on a Friday evening for Run@Work Day at Burnett Woods in Cincinnati. The purpose of National Run@Work Day is to promote physical activity and healthy living through running or walking. Running clubs, events, company-based wellness programs, human resources departments, and individuals nationwide are encouraged to plan fun runs and/or walks with their employers throughout the United States. RCGC Vice President Laura Wagner led the runners on run through Burnett Woods up through the UC Campus to see the students move in for the upcoming year and other happenings around campus and to Bellevue Hill Park for an almost sunset view of downtown Cincinnati. We headed back to the bandstand via William Howard Taft and Clifton Avenue, passing the fountain and some off road running in Burnett Woods.
Afterwards, the club provided water, pop, beer, fruit with either caramel or cream cheese dip, and chocolate chip cookies(just like the DoubleTree Hotel) for post run refreshment. Thanks to Laura for leading the runners and making sure that all got back to Burnett Woods safely.
If you were unable join us, hopefully, you were able to get out with a friend, coworker, or family member for a 35-minute run or walk.

Dressed to the Nines Race Recap
About 40 runners braved the Lunken Bike Loop for our Dressed to the Nines 9K on 9-9-09. The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati hashed on 6-6-06 with the Sin City Hashers, felt lucky with a race on 7-7-07, and went crazy with a Friday Night Trail run on 8-8-08, so the club decided to close out the decade with a race on 9-9-09. Fortunately, the club got it in before the rain came and everybody who finished got the famous Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati pint glass. Congratulations to our overall men's winner Harvey Lewis with a time of 34:20, and the overall women's winner Cindy Moore with a time of 43:14. A big thank you goes to our volunteers Ryan Woolley, Ed Spiller, Doug Rudisell, Mischa McCormick who was our biker and made sure that nobody got lost, and Greg McCormick who served as grillmaster so the runners could enjoy hot dogs, and hamburgers after the run. View Race Results.
