2023 Memorial Day Race Shirts Available for Purchase

 

The 2023 Memorial Day Race  has a few shirts left over from the race on Monday.  They are blue technical shirts with the dogtag logo on front and a design on the back. We have Medium, Large, XL and a couple 2XL. If you would like a shirt from the race, you can get them over at the  Memorial Day Race Online Registration for the price of 12.00 (include 3.00 shipping & handling).   They will be available for purchase through June 30. Order soon before the deadline or we run out of the size that you want.

Memorial Day Race 47 Recap and Results

 99 runners and walkers came out on Monday May 29 to Lunken Playfield in Cincinnati Ohio for Cincinnati's second oldest race.  Race conditions were sunny and warm and the course was dry and fast.  

    Nick Meiners of  Cincinnati OH was the top male with a time of 16:46.  Larremy Gray was the second male to cross the finish line with a time of 17:58 and  Matthew Hils was the third male who ran a 18:14.  The top female finisher was Kayla Hess who ran a 21:30. Eleanor Schutte was the second female with a time of 22:15 and Annette Molina was third who ran a 22:31.  Roger Nunlist was the top male walker with a time of 38:49 and Leah Weitzman was the top female walker with a time of  35:57 (View Race Results)

   A big thank you goes to our volunteers Nancy Barbian, Fred Farnsley, Melissa Farnsley, Megan Fryburger, Tom Glasscock, and Marty Hovey. Their initiative and flexibility enabled the club to handle the race for 2022. Race results.

Daniel Boone's Run For Statehood - June 10

  Daniel Boone's Run For Statehood is a low cost half marathon and 5k in Falmouth KY. It provides a great race at a great price in a nice area just outside Greater Cincinnati.  $500 Cash Purse if 100 pre-register by June 12 or 200 for race day. Memorial Day Race 47 - This Monday May 29

 

This Monday May 29 is the Memorial Day Race, Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race. Race Day Registration opens at 8:00 AM at shelter #1 as you enter the park. Race Day Cost  is $20.00 General Public, and  $15 for those Age 21 and Under / RCGC Members.   Memorial Day Race 47 Shirts are available for $15. Race starts at 9:00 AM at Lunken Playfield. See you there!

2023 RCGC Grand Prix - May Update

   The Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinnati is doing a Grand Prix Series in 2023. The goal of the Grand Prix is to include and recognize members that do many of the races that the club puts on, supports or races that support the club. So far three races have been run and about 50 club members have participated in at least one Grand Prix Race.  Next race in the series are the Memorial Day Race this weekend.  Below are the top ten males and females through the Flying Pig Marathon. Early Registration Ends Soon For Memorial Day 47

Early registration ends soon for Memorial Day Race 47 - Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race. Back in 2022 and with as many names (Memorial Day Race, Memorial Run, Memorial Day Run, Fork in the Road, Clifton Classic, Conquest de Clifton, RCGC River Run) through the years as Spinal Tap drummers.

2023 RCGC Spring Volunteer Opportunities

  Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:

•  Memorial Day Race - The Memorial Day Race needs 10-15 volunteers to help with registration, timing, and post race on May 30. It would take 1-2 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get a few other goodies. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at the online registration page. 
• Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis: Treasurer, Vice President, and Social Media Coordinator. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on June 6.

Memorial Day Race 47 - May 29

Cincinnati's second oldest race behind the Thanksgiving Day Race is back in 2023 for number 47. The 2023 Memorial Day Race is at Lunken Playfield  at 9:00 AM on May 29, 2023. Since most runners are swimming in T-shirts and technical shirts, the club made the Memorial Day Race shirt for 2023 an optional purchase. It will be a technical shirt for the preregistration price of $10.   Register online.

RCGC Flying Pig Roast - May 15

Join the Runners Club of Greater Cincinnati in Montgomery at Swaim Park Lodge on Monday May 15,2023 to celebrate your accomplishments of  Flying Pig Marathon weekend! Show off, wear your bling and enjoy some BBQ, courtesy of RCGC!
 Pulled pork or chicken dinner (complete with sides and fixin's) free to current club members and guests. Food will be served at 6:30 pm.

Thank You Mile 22 Flying Pig Station Volunteers

 The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati would like to thank the volunteers that helped out at the Club's Flying Pig Fluid Station at Mile 22 on  May 7. Their contribution of  handing out water and Gatorade,  cheering, picking up trash and handling the adverse weather conditions made the fluid station another rousing success. Their dedication and enthusiasm made a great impression on the participants.
