National Running Day Recap in Cincinnati
The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati joined with the UC Running Club to celebrate National Running Day in Cincinnati. National Running Day was an opportunity to promote running as a healthy safe form of exercise. Both groups met at the Oval at Mount Airy Forest where runners could do either trail runs or run the open road. Most opted to do the trail despite the rain for the past two days. I opted for the road. A few people took wrong turns on both the trail and the roads, but everybody got back to the shelter. The UC Running Club had a grill out to celebrate the end of the year and the RCGC brought water, pop and fruit. I heard that the trails despite a few muddy spots were in pretty good condition and a few runners did the steps. A special thank you goes to Tim Kling. Tim guided the runners on the trail. Although no timers were present Tim may have set a new PR as in his words "that was the fastest that I ran in a long time".
