Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities - March 2016

Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:
  1. RCGC Split the Pot Prediction Run - The RCGC Split the Pot Prediction Run needs 5-10 volunteers to help with registration, timing, course marshals and post race on Sunday April 3. It would take 2-3 hours of your time. The jobs are easy and you will get the commemorative Split the Pot Shirt, registered for the open raffle plus watching confused runners figure out whether they are on pace for your efforts. Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to get to know other club members. Let us know whether you can help by emailing us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or sign up at www.runsignup.com
  2. Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis:  Social Chair,  Program Chair, and Newsletter Editor. Most positions take 2-3 hours a month of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting on April 6.
  3. Board Members Wanted - As members of the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati(RCGC), do you enjoy the events and activities of the club? Would you like them to continue or would you like the club to try something new? We are searching for Board Members to lead the RCGC for 2016-2017. Requirements are a willingness to work a couple of hours a week, attend one meeting a month, an idea of where you think the club should pursue its efforts, and a one year commitment. Currently, the club could use a couple of at large directors and officers(President, Secretary ) to serve in 2016. If you can fulfill one of these positions or want to be apart of the future of the club as board member or officer, please fill out the nomination form or send an email letting us know of your interest to serve at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com. Your approval will be by the Club Membership at the club's Annual Meeting in April.

United Relay Of America Drops Compulsory Fund Raising

Got in an email:
I have previously reached out to inform you of the United Relay of America, the first non-stop running relay setting off from Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles and uniting in New York City - https://unitedrelay.org
After conducting research with over 85 running clubs across the country, we have found that whilst many of you love the event and would like to be involved, the $300 compulsory minimum fundraising target is a little off putting.
So, in response to this, we have disposed of any compulsory fundraising target to become more accessible to runners and maximize your running experience. We’d love for you to share this amazing experience with us and here’s what you can do:

  • Share with your running club members, local running stores, friends, family and fellow running enthusiasts.
  • Spread the word on social media; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
  • Sign-up, run and have fun!

Check out our webpage - http://unitedrelay.org/
It would be great if your running club members got involved to help create an unbroken chain of runners stretching from the West to the East coast and run for a cause close to your heart.
Be part of running history! Represent your state, from the 33 states involved, with a choice of stages throughout Ohio via the red route or the white route!
Thank you for your time.
