The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati Presents the WeightWatchers® Walk-It Day 5K Recap
The Weight Watchers® Walk-It Challenge is held every year to get their members moving through walking. Originally, it was held the first Sunday in June. In 2011, it moved to May 22 and the Runners’ Club of Greater Cincinati took up the challenge to host a WeightWatchers® Walk-It 5k Challenge in Cincinnati, one of 50 cities to do so.

About 900 walkers came out to participate for the walk held at Lunken Playfield with about 800 signing up early. When the walk started, the walkers enjoyed a relatively flat walk of 3.1 miles along the Lunken Bike Trail. After participants finished the walk, they had some healthy refreshments which included granola bars, bananas, and string cheese.

Overall, the walk was a success and particpants are hoping that we can do it next year. Thank you to our sponsors RoadId and Waltz Business Solutions for printing of the fliers. Thank you to Vitaminwater for coming out and providing calorie free drinks to the walkers and Erickson Academy of Irish Dance and It's Working Out for allowing us to use their lot for overflow parking.

A big thank you goes to our volunteers Terry Elliott, Jackie Ewing, Tom Glasscock,Rob Haddenhorst, Chris Higginbotham, Liz Hofacre, Kristi Kappes, Gina Meyers,Paul Lovelace, Bob Obermeyer, Bob Platt, Dave Reid, Llee Sivitz and Ryan Woolley. Their initiative and flexibility enabled the club to handle so many people and put on one of the club's largest events in some time. View Photos
