Whiskey City Spirit 5k Race Recap

The Whiskey City Spirit 5k Run / Walk  is done in conjunction with Whiskey City Festival in Lawrenceburg Indiana on the first Saturday in November. It raises funds for the Lawrenceburg Lions. This was the 2nd year for the race, and the first time that I ran it.  I decided to do this race since I wanted to do a  race in Lawrenceburg Indiana,  and the 11:00 AM start time was an extra bonus.
Race Registration was near the Doubletree Hotel and Lawrenceburg Event Center. They had about 80 runners and walkers. Race Day Registration was $30 which included a drifit shirt, a goody bag, a high ball glass and a sample bottle of either vodka or tequila. If you finished the race, they gave you a finsihers medal that could serve as a bottle opener and a keychain. The course started on top of the flood wall for a scenic view of the Ohio River,  proceeded through the streets around Lawrenceburg and finished near race registration. It was a flat course except for the slight downhill off the floodwall. They had one waterstop on the course and the miles were marked.  However some people got lost on the course.
Post race like most races featured bananas and water.  Overall, it was a nice race with a course different from the ones that you get today. I may do it again next year depending on my schedule.  For race results, visit www.stuartroadracing.comView Results.
