Greater Cincinnati Running Hall of Fame Induction Banquet - August 5

The 2nd Annual Greater Cincinnati Running Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will take place on Sunday, August 5th at 4:30 p.m. at the Original Montgomery Inn in Montgomery. Tickets cost $40 which includes Dinner, Dessert and Program. Keynote Speaker will be Pat Tyson. Pat ran with Steve Prefontaine at Oregon and is the current Head Track and Cross Country Coach at Gonzaga University.

2012 Inductees are:
  • Kim Betz - Attended Turpin. 1986 State Champion in the 800 Meters and 1600 Meters. 1987 Individual NCAA Cross Country Champion at Indiana.
  • Calvin Bostic - Attended Forest Park. Led Forest Park to State Track Titles in 1988 and 1989. In 1989 as a junior he won three events at the State Meet and missed a fourth as he was nosed out in the 110 hurdles.
  • Reggie McAfee - Attended Courter Tech. Called the Greatest Distance Runner to come out of Cincinnati, he was a two-time State Cross Country Champion in 1967 and 1968. At the 1969 High School State Track Championships, he won the One Mile Run (4:08) and the 880 Yard Run (1:52.5). 3 time All American at North Carolina.
  • Jim Schnur - Went to Oak Hills High School. In 1973, he was a High School State Champion in the 400 meters. Jim attended the University of Cincinnati and set school records in the 440/400 and the Decathlon. Coached Women's Track at UC
  • Sam Stoller - attended Hughes High School. One of the best sprinters the state had ever produced, but he had the misfortune of attending high school in Ohio at the same time as Jesse Owens.
